Debt of Honor

Debt of Honor
by Piper Stone

My review:

“Debt of Honor” is an intense romantic suspense story by Piper Stone. This is a fast-paced story filled with interesting characters, dramatic situations, and unexpected developments. It’s the first book in the authors new ‘Eagle Force’ series and it has me already looking forward to book #2.

Isabella is a genius, and a brilliant scientist; she’s developed something that could potentially eradicate many diseases, but that can also be weaponized if it gets into the wrong hands. Further complicating matters, she’s also the daughter of the Vice-President of the United States – a man currently running for President. Jagger is known as Cobra, and he’s been recruited to an elite group of top secret special operatives that will be operating outside of government constraints. He’s assigned to protect Isabella from ruthless foreign forces who want the information only she can provide. Making everything much more complicated is the overwhelming physical attraction Isabella and Cobra feel for one another, and Isabella’s belief that her father was responsible for the death of somebody important to her. I’ve intentionally left out a lot of information about the plot and the subplots, because you really should discover it for yourself, and I don’t want to spoil anything for you.

Isabella and Jagger are both compelling, complex characters. There’s plenty of steam between them, but more importantly, they bring out lot of other qualities in each other. This story kept my attention from the first paragraph to the very last one and surprised me more than once. The pace of the story never slowed down, and never lessened in intensity. I’ve read a lot of books by this author, and I think this is one of her best.
