Savage Pawn
by Em Petrova
My review:
“Savage Pawn“ is part of the ‘SEAL Team Blackout’ series by Em Petrova. It’s written in such a way that it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone story. The members of Team lBackout have been reported dead to the world, so they no longer exist.
Special Operator Drew Gunnison is the acknowledged smartest man on his team of smart guys. He also happens to be brilliant with computers, and has been tracking a dangerous terrorist. Suddenly the stakes are raised higher than they’ve ever been, and the danger level to the United States is almost unthinkable. A ‘white hat’ hacker is brought in to work with him and try to find out what is going on. Kit Wells is not at all who he was expecting . She’s brilliant, beautiful, and blessed with bountiful curves … in other words, she’s his idea of the perfect woman. Add in the fact that she’s also sassy and adorably clumsy, and she’s absolutely irresistible to him. Kit is equally attracted to the gruff special operative the government has assigned her to assist. Somehow, the increasing level of danger also increases the intensity of the attraction between them.
This is an excellent romantic suspense novel that continually builds the drama and the love story at the same time. There are some twists, turns, and dramatic scenes that left me speechless. The chemistry between the lead characters practically leaves scorch marks on the pages. I thought it ended kind of abruptly, but that may just be because I was enjoying the story so much. I’m already looking forward to the next book in this series
