If you love someone
by Lola West
My review:
This novella packed a heck of a punch and left me crying some ugly tears … you may want to have a tissue available in case it gets you in the same way. Make no mistake though, it is well worth it! Another word of advice – have the second part of this love story ready to go so you can find out what happens with Billy and Katie. I have also shared my review for that this week.
Billy and Katie were next door neighbors and best friends since infancy. In this prequel we learn about their relationship, and it’s the stuff dreams are made of. They complete one another. Until she gets the chance of a lifetime to share her music with the world, while his family obligations keep him tethered to their hometown. As the old saying goes, “If you love someone, let them go …” He adores her, he lets her go and wishes her all the best, and all of our hearts get broken.
Both characters were wonderfully depicted. The author does a great job bringing them to life, and pulling us into the world in which they live. I thought this book was terrific.
