Dixon

Dixon

by Em Petrova

My Review

With this novella, Em Petrova brings us the start of a new series that is clearly going to drive into our hearts, rock our bookshelves, and heat up our kindles!  This first book, Dixon, introduces us to the characters of the small town of Mersey, Tennessee. Dixon has returned home from serving several tours in Afghanistan while in the Marines. He has scars from terrible injuries that almost killed him, and he carries emotional baggage from his experiences. But underneath it all he is a very good guy.

Fiona is a smart and hardworking young woman who owns and runs a pub in town. A biker club has decided to take control of life in Mersey, and their behavior is putting her out of business. Fiona thinks Dixon is like the faithless guys in her past, so she keeps shutting him down when he tries to pay attention to her. He isn’t a jerk about it, but he makes sure to keep putting forth the effort to help her and the situation.

The chemistry between them is undeniable and irresistible. There is a good amount of action in the story, and significant passion between the 2 main characters. This well-written story is perfectly paced for easy reading. It has a great ending, and leaves us with at least a dozen unattached guys primed to be excellent book boyfriend material. I am already looking forward to the next book in the series!
